This new role involves leading all aspects of the Product development and validation programme for electrical (switchboard) products for use on Naval surface/sub-surface platforms.
What you will be doing
Provide Programme and Technical leadership and support to the Work Package team and comply with the Engineering Function's policies throughout the life cycle of the work package.
Define and own the Product Development Programme necessary to achieve the milestones of the Project Master Programme, which deliver demonstrators / prototypes for verification of the enabling technology and manufacturability.
Introduce and validate tools and methods in the engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure robust design and production at pace.
Manage the verification programmes to ensure all requirements are met.
Ensure that the capability and infrastructure is in place to deliver the planned validation of technology, components and assemblies (e.g. rigs, outsource test capability, prototype fabrication resources, etc).
Position Qualifications
Degree in relevant Engineering and/or Science/Technology subject (or significant and relevant experience).
Experience delivering in multiple, complex engineering roles.
Experience working in both Customer and Supply-chain facing environments
Knowledge and experience in Development / Verification lifecycle and associated processes in a regulated industry.
The role is Bristol-based, but candidate may be expected to travel to support / lead activity from the RR assembly and test facility (Winsford), and/or in the Supply chain, as required.
