About the role
We are looking for an Accountant to join our Payment Team and support payment processes for Lufthansa Group companies. You will work in an international environment, cooperating with finance teams, vendors, employees, and banks.
Tasks
Execute scheduled payment runs for assigned Lufthansa Group companies and handle urgent and critical payment requests
Process fund transfers and payment adjustments in line with established procedures
Prepare payment proposals, ensure sufficient funding, and perform required checks and authorizations
Support payment approvals and automatic payment runs
Contact banks regarding critical payments, refunds, and system-related issues
Handle inquiries from vendors, employees, and internal stakeholders regarding payment status and related topics
Provide required documentation, reports, and payment information
Monitor open cases and ensure timely follow-up
Cooperate with finance and business teams to clarify unpaid or outstanding items
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data processing and agreed service levels
Perform other tasks related to the Payment Team's objectives and daily operations
*Perform all other duties assigned or delegated by supervisors
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree, or at least completion of the 3rd year of studies, regardless of the field of study
English – min. B1
For the Accountant level: at least 1 year of experience in Finance/Accounting processes, preferably in an SSC or BPO environment
For the Junior Accountant level: previous experience in a corporate environment will be an advantage
Good knowledge of Windows and MS Office applications
Analytical mindset and attention to detail
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to work in a shift-based schedule: approximately 2 weeks per month working in a shift 14:00–22:00
Hybrid work model: normally 1 day per month from our Kraków office, with the possibility of more frequent office presence when needed
