About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Staff Engineer to own business metrics engineering across MOVE the definitions, semantic layer, instrumentation, and dashboards that turn our data into decisions the whole company trusts. You will be the technical owner of what the numbers mean and whether they can be trusted, spanning technical, product, and business metrics. Working closely with our Data Engineering team (who own the core pipelines, warehouse, and platform), you will build the metrics layer and reporting surface on top of that foundation — standardizing definitions, eliminating conflicting numbers, and instrumenting the product so the right signals exist in the first place.
Core Competence
Deep expertise in analytics engineering — semantic/metrics layers, dimensional modeling, and transformation logic
Ability to define trustworthy business metrics and translate ambiguous questions into models and dashboards
Working knowledge of anomaly detection across transactional and behavioral data for data-quality and metric integrity
Fluency across the stack — enough software engineering depth to instrument products and integrate with services, not just query data
Own the design and operation of fraud/anomaly-detection signals across MOVE's data and business metrics.
Strong product and business sense — understands funnel, conversion, unit economics, and what actually drives the OTA
Strong debugging, data-quality, and problem-solving skills
Ability to own and evolve the team's data and analytics technical roadmap
Proficiency in AI-driven tools and processes to boost developer productivity and automation
