Job Description
The Facilities Electrical Engineer is part of the Facilities engineering team and tasked with designing new, and oversight of existing electrical systems to meet the requirements and reliability to support the ever-changing business needs of L3Harris in Salt Lake City. This location is approximately 1M sq. ft. and is comprised of lab, manufacturing, and office space.
Essential Functions
Perform engineering calculations: electrical system sizing, lighting, and energy code analysis.
Design power distribution systems, lighting, and tele-data for new and remodel construction activities.
Develop construction documents: drawings, specifications (MasterSpec), and statements of work. Includes coordination with other disciplines and document/drawing review.
Estimate project construction costs.
Perform energy audits, usage calculations, and circuit analysis for critical loads throughout the plant and circuit protection for voltage sag for critical loads.
Validate & optimize the facility through efficiency analysis for cost savings and reduction of energy throughout the plant.
Plan and lead electrical system maintenance and installation activities with contractors and in-house maintenance personnel.
Support with troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
