Job Purpose
Our Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand team is responsible for conveying the essence of Emirates Group. Our team is pivotal in representing the attitudes, beliefs and goals of our organisation across the globe, both internally and with our customers alike!
The role of the Strategic Planner works within the Customer and Central Portfolio team, supporting the Manager Marketing Communications (MMC) and all CCM&B marketing teams by providing analytics and data driven insights for the brief / ad hoc requests, to ensure that marketing campaigns are planned correctly, have solid objectives at the core, and produce results which drive Emirates forwards. They will work closely with all other teams within CCMB, such as Media, Customer Insights, Customer Strategy & Retention, Marketing Analytics, and other marketing teams, to ensure that the briefs / requests received from the commercial teams and business units across the portfolio are crafted to deliver on key brand, marketing or commercial KPIs.
In this role, you will:
- Provide data-backed assessments of brand and commercial objectives from the MMC, the media team and other CCM&B teams into actionable plans. Validate the objectives and use data to recommend opportunities across marketing touchpoints. Provide these to the relevant marketing teams in response to briefs/requests, and support the marketing team in acting on the recommendations. Utilise analytics, customer, research data and any other relevant sources across the department, making recommendations to modify or adjust marketing activities as required.
- Proactively conduct in-depth analysis and insights on market, 1st, 2nd & 3rd party customer & market data to translate findings into strategic recommendations for marketing teams to enhance marketing performance and fuel customer growth. Be the lead in understanding market specific dynamics and share insights as strategic inputs into marketing teams to utilise and action
- Provide marketing recommendations across customer segments, channels for communication, market trends, marketing spend and any other measurable criteria, enabling the marketing team so that plans for communications are achievable and can be executed as required. Use statistical analysis where appropriate to support recommendations.
- Proactively monitor regional and market trends to uncover emerging customer behaviours and opportunities. Leverage RFM analysis and audience segmentation to identify growth potential and collaborate with MMCs and Media teams to translate insights into actionable marketing plans. Partner with customer insights and analytics teams to evaluate performance, improve acquisition and retention, and reduce churn to drive sustainable customer growth
- Responsible for ensuring the capture, analysis, and dissemination of digital and marketing data to evaluate customer behaviour and marketing performance. Lead the integration, management, and utilisation of data from various digital and marketing channels (e.g., sponsorship, pr, paid media, SEO, social media, web analytics) within CCM&B. Work directly with the agencies and suppliers to ensure analytics and planning is run coherently. Collaborate with Customer Insights and Marketing Analytics to establish measurement frameworks, KPIs and metrics to track campaigns and their ROI.
- Work collaboratively with the Customer Insights, analytics and research team to identify new customer insights, segments or opportunities for marketing communications when and wherever possible. Identify and analyse 1st, 2nd and 3rd party data and use it to inform marketing strategies across markets and regions. Work closely with teams within CCMB, including Customer Insights, Marketing Analytics, Media, Marketing Operations, Sponsorships and Events, Social Media and more, to collect data that can be used to inform future marketing opportunities. Work closely with the Media team to take into account the Direct Response Always On activities, so that campaign-driven recommendations provide value-added investments, over and above the forecasted DRAO KPIS, and do not conflict with them.
- Develop and manage dashboards, reports, and scorecards that enable performance tracking. Provide support on ad hoc analysis, tagging, and data quality improvements.
- Champion customer-centric, channel-agnostic marketing approaches that ensure all briefs and campaigns are grounded in data insights and aligned with audience needs.
- Drive data-informed decision-making across marketing and commercial teams, translating complex analytics into practical, impactful marketing actions.
- Evaluate the impact of brand and commercial investments by analysing performance against KPIs. Recommend optimisation strategies based on regional and market-specific data trends.
Qualification
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- A completed Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in marketing or related discipline.
- Experience as a strategic planner.
Knowledge/skills:
- Clear and persuasive communication of strategy and insights
- Proven experience delivering global marketing campaign briefs
- Excellent understanding of data-driven marketing. Consumer behaviour and trend analysis
- Agility in adapting strategies based on marketing performance and customer feedback
- Problem-solving under ambiguity.
- Proactively uncover trends, identify opportunities, and drive customer growth strategies.
- Hands on digital experience will be advantageous
- Past experience in media planning and digital marketing strategy.
- Understanding of how the online and offline worlds combine to create a holistic approach to communications.
- A strategic thinker and have a proven track record of developing strategies for enterprise scale brands Strong analytical skills, enjoying working with numbers and data and understand the bigger picture. Ability to think creatively and consider solutions and ideas that challenge the status quo.

- Experience using marketing technologies, e.g. CDPS, CRM platforms, SFMC Statistical analysis capabilities
