About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Avionics Software Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer / Technical Lead to drive the verification, testing, debugging, and certification of safety-critical avionics software.
In this role, you will work on requirement-based testing, structural coverage analysis, host- and target-based verification, and compliance with DO-178B/C certification objectives. You will collaborate with global engineering teams, contribute to certification reviews and audits, and help develop innovative tools and processes that improve software quality and engineering efficiency.
This is an opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with technical leadership, mentoring, and continuous improvement while contributing to avionics systems that support safe and reliable flight operations.
What You’ll Do
Avionics Software Verification & Certification
- Design, develop, review, and execute requirement-based test cases, test procedures, and unit tests for safety-critical avionics software.
- Perform software verification and validation across host and target environments, including unit, integration, and system-level testing.
- Conduct Structural Coverage Analysis (SCA) and support the achievement of applicable software coverage objectives.
- Ensure compliance with DO-178B/C processes and objectives for applicable software assurance levels, including Levels A, B, and C.
- Support certification activities, including Stages of Involvement (SOI), technical reviews, compliance submissions, and internal and external audits.
- Maintain adherence to established software development, verification, quality, and documentation standards.
Technical Problem-Solving & Tool Development
- Debug and troubleshoot software issues across host and target platforms, including software-software and hardware-software integration environments.
- Analyze system capabilities, software behavior, and reported issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain Python-based automation and common engineering tools to improve development and verification efficiency.
- Apply engineering principles to design, develop, and implement technologies, components, subsystems, and systems that meet defined requirements and specifications.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in test automation, verification methodologies, and engineering workflows.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams to deliver project milestones and engineering commitments.
- Lead or coordinate moderately sized engineering teams, as applicable, ensuring quality, timely execution, and alignment with project objectives.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers, review technical deliverables, and promote engineering best practices.
- Lead or contribute to innovation initiatives, quality improvement activities, and CORE workshops to deliver measurable product and process improvements.
- Identify novel technical solutions and ensure innovations are appropriately captured and protected through applicable intellectual property processes.
