Our Network Operations team works around the clock running United’s global operation, safely, reliably and efficiently. From dispatching and routing our fleet to coordinating with maintenance line planning and crew scheduling, this team makes caring connections with our internal customers and ultimately, United’s customers. From pushback to landing, the Network Operations team is the eyes and ears on the ground no matter where in the world your United flight takes you.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Managing Director, NOC Daily Operations is responsible for the short-term strategic and tactical administration of NOC policies and procedures to ensure the successful achievement of daily network operating objectives. This position has administrative oversight of the Network Director and UAX Network Manager teams, and coordinates their policies, training, IT, and staffing.

• Responsible for developing NOC policies and procedures and coordinating supporting IT initiatives to ensure compliance with corporate reliability objectives
• Supports cross-functional initiatives through leadership and project management. Works collaboratively with leaders from Airport Operations, Tech Ops, Flights Ops, and others
• Supervises the administrative, training, and standardization functions of Network Directors and UAX Network Managers
• Communicates planning and strategy directly to company officers
• Serves as an escalation point-of-contact for daily irregular operations and EOC coordination
• Drive adoption of innovative operating models and decision-support capabilities that enhance situational awareness and speed of recovery.

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Airline Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years operational leadership experience in a fast-paced, multi-faceted 24/7 airline operation
• Minimum of 5 years management experience
• Proficiency with NOC systems, scheduling tools, and flight tracking platforms.
• Demonstrated knowledge in multiple operational areas including Network Operations, Airport Operations, Flight Operations, Safety, Weather and Irregular Ops planning.
• Demonstrated knowledge of UAX Operations
• Strong strategic planning skills
• Strong project management skills

• Ability to travel up to 10%

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

• MBA in Aviation Management
• FAA certificated role, Pilot, Dispatch or A&P
• Demonstrated ability to influencer, ability to drive consensus among multi faceted groups
• Demonstrated an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools and effectively leverages them to support research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving. Apply critical thinking to validate AI-generated outputs while adhering to organizational policies for responsible AI use, data privacy, and security.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, and automation technologies to enhance safety, operational decision-making, network resilience, and resource optimization while maintaining the highest standards of operational integrity, regulatory compliance, and performance in a complex, 24/7 environment.

The base pay range for this role is $201,400.00 to $262,250.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
