This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get To Do
The manager will lead a growing team of structural analysis engineers and will be responsible for leading all managerial tasks relevant to structural analysis. The manager will work 80% of their time in the structural analysis engineering discipline, as directed by the Sentinel Program AVE IPT Lead. The manager will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and facilitating communications, tasking, scheduling, and technical reviews with each individual contributor’s execution lead in Roy, UT. Functional home room support, approximately 20% of the manager’s time will be focused on recruiting, staffing, retaining talent, weekly team meetings, bi-weekly 1:1 meetings, and holding performance review discussions. Supporting relevant Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Community of Practice is expected.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 8 years of experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of experience.
- Demonstrated excellence in the field of structural analysis.
- Experience in writing and presenting technical content.
- In depth familiarity with Abaqus, Ansys or Nastran• Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis with Nastran (or equivalent).
- Experience in performing Bolted Joint Analyses per NASA STD 5020.
- Experience running static and dynamic structural problems using analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools) .
- Experience in the thermal analysis of aerospace systems.
- Basic knowledge of Heat Transfer methods and principles.
- Proficient in programming and use of MATLAB (or equivalent) for analysis and data manipulation
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college/university.
- Experience in a technical leadership/management role.
- Experience working strategic or tactical missile programs or spacecraft.
- Experience with Thermal Desktop.
- DoD Top Secret Clearance - Proficiency with ABAQUS, FEMAP, and ANSYS.
- Exposure to structural test applications- Experience with seismic analysis (ASCE 7).
- Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion.
- Navigate through NX 3D models and CPLM.
- TeamCenter CPLM experience.
- Existing Special Access Program (SAP) approval.
- Strong experience leading teams and training others.
- Experience with individual contributor performance assessments.
