Maintenance Operations Manager

Purpose of the job

To lead and manage the Daily Operational environment. This includes oversight of the daily planning process and the organisation and management of the activities to support optimum fleet availability of the customer base. The role ensures the maintenance standards and compliance of the activities in relation to aviation industry safety standards, aircraft servicing and defect rectification and to comply with the customer required level of service in the most cost effective way.

Manage Line & Light activity

• Oversees the daily operation of the functional Production teams ensuring accepted aviation standards are delivered for the customer base.
• Deputises for the Line & Light Maint Mgr for operational activities on a daily basis.
• Participates and contributes in daily production meetings and all other applicable scheduled meetings.
• Will be expected to present reports as required in relation to the maintenance operation under his/her control.
• Leads, organises, measures and controls the performance of the production team in support of organisational goals and objectives.
• Communicates effectively and accurately with the cross functional team from Planning, Supply Chain and Engineering as necessary in support of aircraft redelivery.
• Actively engages in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

People Management

• Supports and participates in the professional development and training needs of the Production staff, providing direction and encouragement where necessary
• Reviews the resource forecast staffing levels to ensure they are appropriate for work to be performed during each shift and as per the manhour budget for the planned tasks. Propose interim staff if required to the Line & Light Mgr with appropriate justification.
• Ensures that the responsibilities and objectives of each staff under his/her leadership are clearly defined and their accountability for performance expressly understood.
• Leads the production team, through demonstrated and appropriate ASL behaviours and sets expectations for others.
• Communicates effectively and accurately with the Production teams with regards to staff briefings and organisational updates.

Quality, Health & Safety management responsibilities

• Is accountable for Safety and Compliance of the maintenance operations under his/her control.
• Actively promotes safety and compliance as part of the standard duties of the role
• Ensures cleanliness and tidiness of areas and equipment’s under his/her responsibility.
• Actively promotes and encourages an open reporting environment
• Actively participates in performance reviews of personnel
• Actively engages in the auditing and regulatory processes, including the closure of open findings.

Commercial Activities

• Ensures the correct recording of manhours from the maintenance staff under his/her leadership
• Engages and supports the invoicing process
• Engages in the development of potential business opportunities, making recommendations to the Line & Light Mgr as appropriate.

Internal compliance

• Complies with all relevant divisional and local company related policies, procedures and legal requirements.

• Performs his/her activities in a way that delivers a positive Customer Experience.
