Junior Software Engineer (Greece, Chania based)

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Junior Software Engineer to join our Development Lab at SKY express, based in Chania. In this role, you will support the development and maintenance of software applications, APIs, and backend services that support key airline operations. Working closely with Senior Software Engineers and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to delivering reliable and scalable technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software applications, RESTful APIs, and backend services that support business and operational needs.
• Collaborate with Senior Software Engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and technical documentation activities to ensure reliable and high-quality software delivery.
• Follow coding standards, participate in code reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement of software quality and development practices.
• Contribute to team initiatives, development processes, and internal tools while taking ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience in software development.
• Exposure to modern programming languages and technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js and SQL.
• Familiarity with any frontend library/framework such as Angular, React, Vue etc.
• Familiarity with Git.
• Fluency in Greek and English (verbal and written).
