Intern

1. Support in verifying Critical Control Points, Operational Pre-requisite programs and pre-requisite programs (CCPs, OPRPs, and PRPs) established as per the Hazard Control Plan to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
2. Perform Food sample collection for microbiology analysis in line with the agreed sampling plan to ensure valid and representative results.
3. Supports food safety data gathering and the maintenance of monitoring information, to ensure that trends and recurring issues can be identified from reliable data.
4. Supports food safety administration, including maintenance of monitoring and verification registers to ensure accurate and complete food safety records
5. Conduct Personal hygiene verification of Food Handlers and report any deviations to the established personal hygiene policy to prevent contamination at source
6. Support in administrative tasks of Microbiology laboratory and Food Safety section to maintain accurate and accessible records.
7. Supports scheduled thermometer verification to ensure temperature monitoring equipment remains accurate and fit for purpose.
8. Support customer complaint investigation and traceability exercises, gathering evidence and retrieving documentation to ensure that root causes are established and affected product is traced accurately within required timeframes.

Education Qualification:
• Level 2 Food Safety Training (must have)
• Food Safety Level 3 (Preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree preferably with a background in science (preferred)

Work Experience:
a) Area of Experience: Food production or related field will be an added advantage

Skills:
• Should have good communication skills and fluent in English Language.
• Able to contribute effectively within a team environment while independently planning and prioritizing own tasks.
