Our Network Operations team works around the clock running United’s global operation, safely, reliably and efficiently. From dispatching and routing our fleet to coordinating with maintenance line planning and crew scheduling, this team makes caring connections with our internal customers and ultimately, United’s customers. Job Overview and Responsibilities
The Analyst – Operations Products & Strategy will lead the development of highly analytical tools that support the Air Traffic Strategy and Dispatch workgroups in the NOC. The analyst should be able to understand the NOC business, the needs of the stakeholders, and use this understanding to design, build, and activate tools and enhancements addressing those needs. The analyst will develop presentations, generate performance reports, and support the organization with suggestions for new tools and methods of reporting to meet business goals. This self-starting individual will use knowledge of operational performance to create new ideas, take them from concept to deployment, and collaborate with various teams.
- Assist operational users in capturing business requirements and support in communicating final analysis to leadership, coordinating with Digital Technology teams to ensure tools meet requirements to support operational needs by helping to plan and conduct quality assurance testing.
- Help evaluate business processes, identify requirements, and suggest areas for improvement by developing functional requirements and user stories
- Perform analysis on large volumes of operational data to assess product health, identify operational trends and opportunities, and inform product strategy, prioritization, and continuous improvement.
- Support network and station operations initiatives aimed at enhancing operational communication to drive efficiency, consistency, and accountability
- Support the monitoring of airline performance and assist operational leaders in addressing performance issues by improving operational tools
Coordinate with training and change management teams to help deliver effective communication and training to successfully launch new or updated tools and procedures
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or related experience
- Business, operations, analytics or other relevant fields
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work with cross-functional groups
- Strong relationship building skills
- Highly organized and have the ability to multi-task challenging priorities
- Must be willing and able to travel 15% of the time domestically and internationally
- Must be willing and able to work a hybrid work schedule 3 days in-office as needed at the CSC
- Willis Tower in Chicago, IL and at times at the NOC facility located in Arlington Heights, IL
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or related experience
- 2+ years of working in an airline operations environment
- Strong knowledge of airport and network operations
- Experience with process/system mapping and analysis
- Experience using at least one database management system
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrates an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools and effectively leverages them for research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving. Applies critical thinking to validate AI-generated outputs while adhering to company policies related to responsible AI use, data privacy, and security.
Experience using project management and issue tracking tools
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
